This ought to be fun
Has possibilities. I hope he uses Pool-O-Vision more responsibly...
Excelsior, true believers! It is I Stan Lee, here to congratulate the "Merc with a Mouth" for his continued success!
SOUCE: MY DICK
Oooooookay.
i dont know I was excited for this but this interview doesnt really tell me much. Now Im kind of nervous
@ Stan Lee
I see you've upped the ante T roll
@ Stan Lee
0.o
But anywho i'll pick this series up, hope it's worth it...
@ Jeff
Don't mind 'Stan Lee'.
It's really T Roll trying to be 'notorious' again. I called it on him yesterday and he got a bit sadfaced. Now he's trying to be hardcore. Or something.
Completely lacks subtlety...
I don't know who this T Roll is but if anyone can help me contact FOX pictures to get them to restore my fight scene with Hugh Jackmen in the Wolverine move for the DVD that would be great! I gained 30 punds of muscle for that role and don't want the footage to go to waste in some vault! Excelsior!
@ Stan Lee
Still lacks subtlety man. Have you considered Community Theater?
Here is a photo to prove the legitimacy of my claim:

Please help me out, true believers!
@ Stan Lee
Still needs something to it man. Did you consider insulting others directly? I did it mostly indirectly and it infuriated most everyone.
Mr. Day-Lewis, I'm not sure who you think I am or why you are harrassing me (I loved "There Will Be Blood"! Truly a tale in the mighty Marvel way!) but I am simply reaching out to fans of Marvel's mesmerising movie masterpieces to help me get my work in the blockbust film recognized! Hugh Jackmen told me that my scene really chock-a-block filled with action!
STAN LEE IS NOT ME!!! I'M THINKING OF GIVING UP TROLLING...
@ T RoLL
If you're going to pretend not to be yourself, show up a day later. Not 5 minutes after you post.
Don't worry though, you're young yet, you got time to learn the Trolling thing.
Mr. Day-Lewis, please! I implore you! I am Stan Lee! One Marvel's founding fathers! This T Roll is clearly a tom fool! Trying to get attention! Again I am merely asking for my voice to be heard!
@ T RoLL/Stan Lee
Meh. At least add an accent to your posts. It's more amusing that way.
I'm starting work on my Deadpool Essay. Re-reading all the X-Force back issues.
I had really forgot how cold and awesome Fabian originally had Deadpool. I remembered he beat the hell outta Copycat and all, but it never really stuck with me how much he hated her.
DAMN IT, IT'S NOT ME!!!
Well, while Mr. Day-Lewis my have his doubts, I implore all true believers to mail Marvel (address can be obtained by clicking my name) and FOX studios (www.fox.com)! Lets get to work true believers! Excelsior!
@ Stan Lee
You can grow up any minute now, we all know your just some impostor!
Huh immature!
ANON
Well will this take place in the ultimate universe? or is deadpool becoming a 2 book char like wolverine? Now I am gonna get confused on the character's story.
BTW I want Deadpool X Siryn Nao 0_O!!!
So now T RoLL is posting Anonymous.
I'll give him credit for using "nao" and "!!!"
I'm just testing my account...
Uhm how do you get the orange B? I'm serious, I'm not trolling right now..
Oh ok its fixed!!!
I think you all need to chill out, hot damn.
Hey can I interrupt you guys for a sec and ask if anyone is familiar with a certain appearance of Deadpool. It's described/depicted here...
http://www.comicvine.com/deadpool/29-7606/
under the "Earth-811" heading, the 5th picture from the bottom of the page. Does this come from "Day of Future Past" or ...?
The Earth-811 picture is from
"Weapon X - Days of Future Now" issue # 3.
Thank you!
@Daniel
Yeah When Wade first came around he was pretty nasty, i dug him like that as well. Even in circle chase, and that second mini series he was cold. The insane thing didn't really start until Kelly. I always wondered how Fabian got from his original Deadpool attitude to his Cable and Deadpool version, he didn't really have to folloe Joe Kelly's lead. Not that I'm complaining mind you I love Deadpool both ways so whatever. Although not sure if I dig Way's version so much....I think the voices AND Poolovision are a little much....one or the other would be fine. I like Benson's take alot though. Eh whatever i'll keep reading way's too....its not so bad....like i said i just dislike the visions....particularly the one with Norman Osborn as a giant...that was lame.
@ Anonymous
He made Deadpool campy/etc to appeal to a wider audience. Cable and Deadpool was campy, a buddy cop flick, Cable was the Straightman and Deadpool was the Funny Man. It obviously got more people's attention.
It worked exceedingly well. I just don't like it because it was wasn't the same type of insanity, just as Way's 'insanity' isn't the same with anyone's really.
Goooood for you Daniel Way.
Anon:
with joe kelly deadpool wasnt really insane , he was just wacky and behaved like that so he didnt whent insane.
btw I wasnt t roll and I am serious I want Deadpool x siryn , and not some new random dotor named like hulk's wife.
Also this guy is new at deadpool right?
didn't know if it is important to post it,but deadpool will be in the 70th Anniversary Frame Variants.just to let u know..
http://www.marvel.com/comics/onsale/lib/view2.htm?filename=/i/content/st/8009new_storyimage2317308_full.jpg
@ chimichanga
Cool! But UGH could they have wedged him in a smaller spot?
This guy seems like he'll be alright, the only thing I'm worried about is Bong Dazo, his art in T-bolt's was awful.
@ anon (2.08 pm)
i know,i know but beggars can't be choosers man...
@ T Roll
Uh huh. And you were giving up trolling eh?
@ Anonymous
Has the T-Bolt art guy done anything else or was T-Bolts his first comic venture. I kinda wanna see what else he's done.
@Daniel again
Yeah I guess you're right it did make him appeal to a wider audience....i liked C&DP...I've been a Deadpool fan from the very beginning, and witht the exception of his Hero for Hire appearences and Marvel Select, i have every issue he has ever been in. I'm a Huuuuugeee DP fan. I gotta say of all the different takes on Wade, I'm not sure whether i like Kelly's, Simones, or Fabians best. I love them all. I don't like the fact that Way has made DP like over the top legit insane. Its not that i can't stand it its just that its not really what Wade is supposed to be. Deadpool always hammed up his insanity, it was like a ploy or tactic more than anything....he even said it while fighting Cable during the civil war. So to see him being really crazy with PoolOvision is just odd and feels....off i guess. Maybe i just need to get used to it. Question Dan....I've seen you on here before and have heard your dislike for C&DP before. How did you feel about issue 50 though....the final one written by Reilly brown? Did you like it? I gotta say of the whole C&DP run i think it was my favorite. it was cool seeing wade together with the Avengers and FF. Lol i loved his crack on Spidey and liked his hitting on Ms. Marvel.
@ other Anon
I know he wasn't legit crazy during the Kelly run
I simply meant thats when he got a little wacky, he was always funny, but the antics started during the Kelly run. And a yeah Siryn DP reunion could be cool....i would also dig him and Outlaw.
I'm Sean by the way, nice to meet you guys.
@ chimichanga/anyone:
Is that 70th anniversary frame a comic book variant (if so what comic) or what is it just a poster/pic or what?
@ Anonymous
Eh, I hated Fabian's run. The over the top camp, and he actually made Deadpool insane and the temporary amnesia. Gave him extra powers and made his backstory even more convoluted.
It's one of the bigger things I argue with people about when it comes to how Deadpool should be personified. Kelly and Priest and the others made him manic and everything, but Fabian made him kill for no reason, and made him *act* stupid on purpose.
The over the top camp was what killed it for me. The Deadpool everyone else wrote about didn't dig around in vats of waste, or wear marvel girl's costume for no reason, or pretty much do anything outside of the pop culture references Fabian did to the character. The style of humor attracted more readers, but that's all he was in the book. A plot device, a mood lightener, and even when he attempted to be serious with Deadpool, it came off as hammy and cheesy.
But it's the Deadpool most people are most familiar with. I just can't stand it because he made a habit out of over the top humor, dick fart and gay jokes, and the unfunny political satire.
It was like watching Deadpool go from "Pinky and the Brain" style of humor, with dark wit, some obvious toilet humor, to "Family Guy" style randomness, for no reason.
I'm obsessive about continuity, and seeing Deadpool act extremely out of character for no reason other than to move the plot along was really annoying.
@ Sean Anonymous
I also thought that Reilly Brown did a great job writing issue fifty, it was a nice way to end the series.
I really liked Deadpool's internal monologue about not feeling out of place fighting along side the Avengers.
Deadpool - "All of them fighting together and I'm standing right along side of them." "Black Widow says 'cover my flank' and I don't make a joke about it. I just do it. And I do it well, because let's never forget, I might be an annoying, brain-addled, absurdly conflicted individual, but I can still kick ass better than the best of them!" All that while making his own sound effects.
Yea I've just read Cable and Deadpool 35 and it was a brilliant issue. It makes Wade question whether "He has killed so many people he stopped caring and lost count" or "He just didn't care in the first place to start counting"
And issue 50 shows some absolution for him, some acceptance. The scene at the very end with everyone sitting round watching TV showed how far Deadpool has come as a person.
@ theaceofknaves
But he did show conflict before, and when the first chance of being made into a 'hero' turned out to be murdering someone, he couldn't stand it.
He'd come to accept his role however, even if it did mean murdering a free will sapping alien messiah.
Of course, this was ignored by Fabian who decided to make him seem to not care at all. And the way it was pulled off of course was with him attacking innocents and acting like a loon. The same style of camp that was supposed to be funny, but was just over the top.
Just like I said, Fabian took the character that had been established and decided to rewrite/use him in a manner that fit his storytelling.
It didn't matter that Deadpool had come to terms with being a killer, or that he doesn't like showing his face in public, or that he'd already done the 'is that all I am, a killer?' aspect before. Fabian just did whatever he wished.
DP is now offical in MUA 2:
http://marvelultimatealliance.marvel.com/en/news_comments/deadpool_making_the_merc/
HOLY SHIT he looks awesome in MUA2!!
Damn and he got a character profile yet!
http://marvelultimatealliance.marvel.com/#/Characters/Deadpool
Can't wait to play that shit:D
Me 2! I was already buying the game, but now I'm gonna get it more! I hope Moon Knight will be playable!
And also some guy on some forum said only people that really mattered in the Civil War appeared in this game, he was wrong! YES!!!
@Daniel
I think you're overreacting to the changes brought by Fabian.
Deadpool was insane before him. I mean really insane, had hallucinations and all. But Deadpool madness seems to always have been cyclical.
Your problem if you're obsessed with continuity is that DP is a unstable character, and not just mentally.
As you say, he wanted to be a hero, he then tortued his friends, he wants to save the world, and refused to be counted on. He never really succeed making real decisions, he'd rather flee in raving madness than confronting himself.
A part of him had always been a coward on those subjects, that's what made him so angryin C&DP #35. Fabian really show that part and he did it well. The moment when Wade search the waste disposal system is toilet humor, but is also pretty symbolic, given the story, of Wade personal path to hell during this arc.
It's a important piece of who is Wade Wilson, maybe not the Deadpool you like, and I understand that. He's a bit pathetic, coward and lost.
But it's an essential piece of the DP puzzle, and what make him such a fascinating character.
u guyz need to stfu and see the positive!
@ jeff
sorry my bad,it's actually an anniversary variant, here's the post,
http://www.marvel.com/news/comicstories.8009.FIRST_LOOK~colon~_70th_Anniversary_Frame_Covers
Let's hope Victor reminds Bong that Deadpool is bald. I finally tracked down the last issue of Magnum Opus and see tufts of brown hair sticking out of Wade's mask, and no it wasn't the Taskmaster DP.
@ ZombiePlatypus
Nah, he has random bits of hair sticking out sometimes. Especially when he tries Rogaine.
@ Kassad
I just don't like dramatic changes. Especially in styles of humor and in random character development/new powers for no reason.
Deadpool was never full on insane. He was extremely manic, which accounts for his ability to go in directions no one would think of when it comes to strategy.
As for the hallucinations, I'm really straining here, but I can't think of one before Pool-O-Vision.
Fabian just re-wrote the character, and as I've said before, changed the humor from subtle and occasionally random, to over the top camp and low brow in your face koo-koo-kachoo random for the sake of random.
In the same way I've noticed a lot of people don't like how Way handles Pool because he's 'getting his ass kicked/he's not as badass", i felt the same way about Fabian in making the humor cheap and cheesy.
Sometimes cheap and cheesy works, like for Ambush Bug in DC comics, but when you go from dark and witty with a modicum of toilet humor, to full on dick and fart jokes with gay innuendo and cheap political jokes, it tends to rub me the wrong way.
@ Kassad
DP as ALWAYS been insane. Check Deadpool issues 26 to 28, 'cause I think giant rabbits qualifies as hallucinations...
As for the humor, I can't really answer. Depends on the readers taste I guess, and Fabian might be consider a bit "over the top". I understand that (even if I don't consider homoerotic puns to be more cheap or cheesy than giving wedgies to Weasel).
But I think that saying Fabian re-wrote the character is a bit of an over-statement. He make DP evolve, is not cutting him from his background. The dark merc' stuff still there, but Fabian use it to show that DP want more, even if sometimes he refuses to accept it. (again, check issue 35 of C&DP)
That's a different approach, and the necessity of focussing on the relationship between Cable and Wade let some facets of DP personality unexplored, but you can't really deny the quality of the writing, even if you don't like it ( some aspects of this serie didn't really interest me either)
OUPS! sorry, i mean "@ Daniel"...
@ Kassad
Ahh that's right. After saving the world/killing the messiah bit. He snapped. But then Dr. Bong cured him.
But beyond one psychotic breakdown, he was never 'insane'. Take it from someone who's known insane people.
He specifically had a form of mania/bipolar disorder. Which is why the giant bursts of energy/odd behavior fits a lot smoother.
Psychosis is possible with extreme cases of mania, but Deadpool has snapped once or twice. But he usually knew what he was doing. He was aware of his madness. He wouldn't just slap on women's underwear and make bold proclamations about being an X-man.
The writing though, was solid. I just didn't like how the T-Ray bit was more convoluted, how he wrote the randomness of the humor instead of a bit more subtle.
Like the comparisons I made before:
Freakazoid/The Tick style humor was what most people wrote with Deadpool. Yes there was some toilet humor, but there was also actual subltety in many cases, and there was always a range/reason to it. It wasn't random for the sake of random.
Fabian wrote him like Peter Griffin from Family Guy. That pretty much sums it up.
CRAZY ANON
sean:
yeah I also digged deadpool and outlaw , and I was expecting them on the suicidal king arc but the writter just whent dumb and placed a random waitress instead of her.
Alot of people has been literally dying for a deadpool siryn reunion with some crazy madrox clone killing spree.
I probably won't be able to affort it... but I'll definitley read it in the comic store :)
Yo Anonymous dude --
maybe you should've actually read Suicide Kings 2 before making a dumb statement. Outlaw does make an appearance in the issue. You are a moron.
I wish Ed McGuinnes was doing the interior art. I always loved his Deadpool.
I ain't really been impressed with Bong Dazo on Magnum Opus. Maybe with a different team it will be better.
@ theaceofknaves
Need.
More.
UDON!
Yea I loved Udon's work too.
Who did the art for the Agent of Weapon X arc? That is some of my favourite art as well.
Personally, my favorite Deadpool artist is Zircher. He was great.
@ theaceofknaves
Georges Jeanty was the artist. It had a sorta.. cartoony but good feel to it I says.
my favorite's have been Mc Guiness and Zircher.
