Seems to be massive spoilers in the post. Looking forward to the arc after this one too.
I've always loved the dynamic between Deadpool and Bullseye since they first teamed up in the 90s. I can't wait to get issue #11.
WTF?!
“During the course of this story, Deadpool kind of has a change of heart. He realizes that just being a gun for hire isn’t enough for him anymore,” Way continued. “He did that and did it to the nines. He went all the way the way with that and now it’s time to do something else. So the question we’re left with at the end of the story is what’s next for Deadpool? If he’s not a mercenary, what is he?”
So what the Fuck? Daniel Way is just gonna completely nullify the Merc with a Mouth Series that's gonna come out?
That's why i hate character's being in more then one book. Because you can't really have something epic happen to the character if he's also somewhere else developing in a different way in someone elses story. "Oh we're just gonna have him sale around the southseas and eventually settle his whole operation in southeast asia... but at the same time he's gonna be in New York getting jerked off by rich kids." I don't know. Shit like this pisses me off. It why i stopped bothering to care about anything going on with Wolverine.
it takes place at diferent times, like the Suicide kings mini is going on right after the Horror business in Daniel Ways book
I hope Way does something different with the "I don't wanna be a merc anymore" plot, because Deadpool's done that song and dance multiple times before and always ended up in the same place; being a merc. Why retread it again if it's going nowhere? Let's see how this ends up...
@ ZombiePlatypus
I actually think it fits Deadpool's manic behavior quite well.
"I don't wanna be a merc"
"OOOH an eyepatch! Ahoy!"
"I miss shooting people"
"Man this is boring"
"HEY LOOK A MONKEY!"
well first he wanted to be a merc on the right path.
Then he become a merc in the right path, in cable and deadpool.
Now he will be cease to be a merc and become a pirate xD...
then he may retake the merc job?
Also deadpool right now is in a love triangle with black widow and Outlaw right? well.. sort of.
But I dont like the idea of the Merc with a mouth book, wtf another book?
This will become like wolverine and thats something I dont want.
THey just Want to cash cow deadpool cause they know is very popular and sells alot right now.
come on Marvel replace Way!!!
mikrlinabnit Read a diffrent Deadpool serise. lol now that he will have 2 ongoing and a mini going at the same time. If you dont like one dont read it. Personaly i think the Bullseye arc is the most exsiteing one yet. Im a fan of both chars and the fight so far made me laugh as well as just look bad ass. And i cant wait to see these 2 fight for 2 more issues.
I don't care what happens in the future. I'm just glad that there's gonna be some dynamic play between two psychopaths in a slaughterhouse. Que sera sera.
I'm glad Deadpool is getting more books and is in new games and movies. Out of all the bajillions of Marvel characters, Deadpool out of all people, is getting the recognition he deserves. I still remember the excitement I had when the "Sins of the Past" mini-series came out. I had no idea that it would balloon into multiple series and appearances here and there.
And even though his story may be hard to follow with two books developing in two different ways, it could be worst. I would hate to be one of the Wolverine or Spider-Man fans. So many different titles all going in different directions. It would be easy to just say that one Deadpool comic happens in this dimension while this one is in another. Lame, but it works.
yeah, or at a different timeline :p.
srsly I hate that, they should had better made a Ultimate Deadpool comic instead.
It would had been more interesting.
"“They're two guys who come up with these really contrived Rube Goldberg style schemes because there's a long list of characters who can just shoot someone,” Way continued. “But there are very few people who can do what Bullseye does and there's almost no one who can do what Deadpool does. So the two of them going at each other makes for an interesting engagement.”"
outside of wolverine: origins, where did wade create Rube Goldberg stylen schemes?
back in x-force he'd just show up
kelly had him hide behind a single tumble weed
nicieza had him show up and hit things
was it in priest's run? because i cannot remember any other evidence of that.
i think that this will be the start of deadpool getting really good in way's book , he seems to be getting more into the character , i just hope bullseye gets his butt kicked , norman gets scared and just pays deadpool off to not kill him.
@ bairdduvessa
When taking on Ajax in the woods comes to mind.
Priest's run, the way he took on the Avengers to get the Black Panther's black panther.
Hints of it when he took on the Switchblade Sisters in Palmiotti's run.
The giant road runner/Wyle E Coyote reference in that one issue where he took on the speedster guy.
Kinda had a shceme planned when he took on the Weapon X folks after he turned on'em.
@daniel see i don't see the ajax fights or the weapon x fight as that type of scheme, those are rather simple, desperate plans. Rube Golberg to me implies an insane set up like a game of Mousetrap of the breakfast machine in Back to the Future. I've read little of priests or palmiotti's runs so i can't comment on those
@ bairdduvessa
Eh, it can go either way with the Weapon X bit. I just figure pants in a garbage can laced with explosions has hints of Tom & Jerry (what I think of when it comes to outlandish plots)
And the Road Runner/Wyle Coyote bit wasn't written by Palimotti. I think it was just a one time guy. But it had constant schemes/plots and even ACME crates. Rocket boots. Catapults. Etc.
Good ending too.
Why on Earth does he go into so much detail about what is going to happen? The next book isn't out yet and I feel like I've already read it.
@ Anon
Yeah, how DARE he give out what plans/ideas he have to incent people to check out the book even if they're not a regular reader.
I mean, PPSSH, who cares what happens down the line, unless of course you're a small brained mammal who can't handle large loads of information as well as PICTURES and CAPTIONS to go along with that information.
That... was really a very silly outburst, Daniel. Had your shoelaces come untied, leaving you frustrated about nobody being around to help you tie them back up?
I wasn't even complaining really, I can live with it. I just find it odd that an author would reveal upcoming events so thoroughly. With all the detail he went into, all that's left over the next couple of issues is explosions and gags. Maybe you need Way's advance crib notes to understand what's going on around all that awesome gunfire and stabbing, but I personally prefer a plot to be unveiled to me while I'm reading the actual text.
Anyway, the experience just means that I now know to avoid interviews with the author. I'm not going to lose sleep over it.
i'm starting to believe that Daniel is Daniel Way.
I'm just saying :P
@ Anonymous
He gave out the "Marvel Previews" version. Not even the Cliff's Notes version.
...I'm supposed to be wearing shoes?
"Awesome Gunfire" and "Stabbing" are superfluous and only eye candy and entertainment to the easily entertained.
Like I said, Marvel Previews version of notes, and those just give you an idea of what's ahead, not an exact detailing.
@ bairdduvessa
Don't be silly. He's in GA, I'm in VA.
And if I were, I would've kicked Joe Quesada in the nuts so hard he would've been in the ICU for a week.
